Install
Install Agent Warden from WordPress.org, let the setup wizard check your site, and create your first agent with a safe template. It takes about five minutes.
Requirements#
- WordPress 6.9 or later, and PHP 8.1 or later.
- The MCP Adapter plugin, if you connect an MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or ChatGPT. The REST API and WP-CLI work without it.
- HTTPS and pretty permalinks are recommended. The setup wizard tells you if they are missing.
Install the plugin#
- Go to Plugins → Add New, search for Agent Warden, and click Install Now, then Activate. For Pro, upload the zip you received instead.
- The setup wizard checks your WordPress and PHP versions, the Abilities API, token security, the MCP Adapter, permalinks, and HTTPS.
Create your first agent#
- Go to Agent Warden → Agents and click Create agent.
- Choose a template. Read-only auditor and Content editor (drafts only) are safe starting points.
- Copy the token when it is shown. It is stored hashed and is never shown again.
- Copy the connection snippet for your client from the same dialog.
Remove it#
- Deactivating stops every agent immediately.
- Deleting keeps Agent Warden's data by default, because the action log is an audit record.
- To remove everything, turn on Settings → Data → Delete all data when the plugin is deleted before deleting the plugin. Posts agents wrote are reassigned to the agent's owner, never deleted. On Enterprise, a legal hold keeps everything until it is released.
