Getting started with the hub
This takes about five minutes per site. You need a WordPress site with Agent Warden installed and an administrator account on it.
1. Create an account and a team#
- Open the hub at
https://hub.agentwarden.com. - On the sign-in page select Create one, and enter your name, email, and a password of at least 12 characters.
- Under Teams, enter a team name, for example your agency's name, and select Create team. You are the team's owner.
2. Start the connection from the site#
- In the site's WordPress admin, go to Agent Warden → Hub.
- Select Connect to hub.
- The screen shows a pairing code, a fingerprint, and a link to the hub. The code works for 30 minutes.
Only a WordPress administrator can start the connection. Instructions the hub sends later, such as an approval decision, run as this administrator, within the site's own rules.
3. Claim the site in the hub#
- Select the link on the Hub screen. It opens the hub's Connect a site page with the code already filled in. If you open the page another way, type the code from the site.
- Check that the fingerprint in the hub matches the one on the site. If it does not, stop: you are not talking to the hub you think you are.
- Choose the team and select Connect site.
Back on the site, the Hub screen changes to Connected within a few seconds. The site sends its first report within five minutes, and every five minutes after that (every minute while actions are waiting for approval or instructions are on their way).
After five wrong codes the connection request locks; start again from the site.
4. What you see next#
- Sites lists every connected site with its health: when it last reported, its plugin and WordPress versions, its plan, and whether agents are paused.
- A new site shows Waiting for first check-in until its first report. A site that has not reported for 15 minutes shows Not checking in. Enforcement on the site does not depend on the hub, so such a site is still protected; it is just not reporting.
- Open a site to see its agents, apply fleet policies, and set up its weekly client digest.
Disconnecting#
On the site, go to Agent Warden → Hub and select Disconnect. The site deletes its hub keys and any plan the hub granted, and the hub marks the site disconnected. Uninstalling Agent Warden does the same.
